About Kevin W. Weldon
Kevin is licensed to practice in all Virginia Courts, and has been admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Virginia, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, and the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He is a member of the Family Law and Bankruptcy Sections of the Virginia State Bar, the Newport News Bar Association and the York/Poquoson Bar Association.
While earning his J.D. from Regent University School of Law, Kevin spent a month in Uganda studying East African Law. This experience inspired him to stay an extra year in law school to obtain his advanced law degree (LL.M.) in Human Rights. As part of his LL.M. program, Kevin wrote his theses on how to utilize the East African Court of Justice to combat human trafficking in East Africa.
Prior to attending law school, Kevin had a career in manufacturing, working as a site planner for Procter and Gamble, and as an international sales coordinator for an acrylics manufacturer. Although Kevin enjoyed his career in manufacturing, he wanted to pursue a career where he could have a positive impact on the lives of others. After an inspiring conversation with his wife, Kevin decided to pursue a career in law.
Kevin and his wife found Regent’s philosophy that “Law is not just a profession. It is a calling,” exactly what they were looking for.
While at Regent, Kevin was a board member on the Moot Court Board, an editor for the Journal of Global Justice and Public Policy and an officer in school’s chapter of the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity. Kevin earned an Eagle Award for having the highest grade in his International Human Rights course and earned the Counselor of Law Award for his work in the law school’s Civil Litigation Clinic.
From his experience in manufacturing, and growing up on a small family farm in rural Kentucky, Kevin understands that life can take unexpected turns and that people can find themselves suddenly in need of legal assistance. Kevin cares about his clients and works hard to ensure that their legal rights are protected.
Kevin enjoys spending time outdoors soaking in all the beauty and history our area has to offer. He and his lovely wife Becky have three children and were blessed with their first grandchild in January. A miniature schnauzer named Bentley rounds out their family.
